This module critically examines key issues in current regeneration theory, policy and practice, focusing on neighbourhood renewal and 'people' based approaches to regeneration. As well as looking at particular initiatives such as estate-based regeneration, housing market renewal and the social economy, the module explores the issues involved in community participation in regeneration. The unit will also build relevant skills in participation, partnership working and regeneration practice. Visits and links to relevant regeneration initiatives will be integral to the module.
