Academic Reading at upper intermediate level (CEFR Level B2, IELTS 5.5) is designed for non-native speakers of English. The module involves extensive reading and text organisation analysis of the following genres: articles, critical reviews, reports and argument essays. It also covers the appropriate micro-skills: note-taking, paraphrasing, summary writing, anticipating main ideas from headings, skimming for main ideas, scanning for specific information, citing and referencing. Tutors will introduce a wide range of reading texts from the media and academic sources.
