This module aims to provide an introduction to using evidence in professional practice which will form a basic grounding for academic and practice development throughout the remainder of the professional course and career for which the student is studying. In addition it aims to: - Explore how evidence is used to make decisions about everyday activities - Develop library skills, especially searching for references and the health and social databases. - Develop skills in locating appropriate evidence; reading and summarising evidence; beginning to evaluate the evidence - Develop critical thinking - Develop appropriate referencing skills - Consider different research methods
