Some specialist skills such as those required for motivational interviewing will be developed as part of this module. This module is based on the knowledge gained in some of the taught modules such as 'Research Methods in Sport and Health Sciences', 'Human Nutrition and Metabolism' and 'Food Science'. There will be training sessions to develop anthropometry skills and information will be provided to the students to have clearance to make them fit for practice in specific settings when on placement. The module will allow students to perform role-play to experience various situations in which they might be expected to practice so they could then reflect on their performance and make subsequent plans to improve their skills.
