Browse Hierarchy SWRK7003: Theory, Assessment & Social Work Intervention with Adults
On a daily basis, in every field of service, Social Workers interface with vulnerable individuals and families. This module will introduce students to the models, theories, legislation, research and practice, which provide the context for current best practice in assessment and methods of interventions for different adult groups. Students will be encouraged to develop the skills required for them to locate and critically evaluate current research on mental health, physical disabilities, work with vulnerable elderly, the homeless and other marginalised groups so they can be `evidence informed practitioners', wherever and whenever, their Social Work practice takes them.
