This module introduces students to fundamental psychological concepts, theories and research in order to considers ways in which they can be applied to sport. It aims to develop a broad understanding of issues relating to motivation, goal setting, self regulation, attribution, personality and behaviour in competitive sport contexts. It will also provide students with a contemporary theoretical overview in order to better understand the basis of future application in order to enhance the practice of sport. Practicals allow students to investigate and evaluate these applications in related settings in order to better understand and apply lecture content.
