This module will draw upon the student's knowledge and experience of primary education including how children learn, subject knowledge in the primary curriculum, planning, teaching and assessment and the contexts for education as a basis for exploring employability routes in education, and alternative career routes. This might include the role of the classroom Teaching Assistant, links the role of ICT in primary pedagogy and in wider training contexts, leadership and management skills in a non-teaching professional context. The structure of the independent study will enable individual students to explore a wide range of potential options for future employment, which would be constrained in a specific taught module.
