This module provides students with an opportunity to study developing issues in spatial planning and to develop their own skills in the analysis of planning debates and in problem solving techniques. The module builds on the knowledge and skills developed in modules 'Spatial Planning in Context' (P37601) and 'Spatial Planning in Action' (P37602). It provides students with the opportunity to use the theoretical principles and contextual, institutional and legal frameworks, learned in those modules, to analyse contemporary issues in spatial planning and develop alternative strategies for dealing with those issues.
