The module is focused on current management and finance skills within the professional practice of town planning. The context for the module is the changing nature of management, particularly in the public sector, manifest by greater competition, the concept of the enabling, and partnership working. Emphasis is placed on developing skills and techniques for management of the policy process and working in the planning organisation. A major element of management and implementation of planning developments and projects is finance (including business plans) and half the module is devoted to development finance.
