This module provides a course of study with an explicit land, property development and financial focus, and introduces and applies essential economic concepts to the built environment. Emphasis will be placed on linking and applying micro-economic and macro-economic concepts to the development process, especially appraisal techniques used in land, residential and property development decision, particularly in Britain and continental Europe. It will develop an understanding of economic relationships between land and user markets, the main actors, and fiscal and planning policies.
