Browse Hierarchy PHIL4002: Right, Wrong and Reason
The purpose of this module is to get students thinking in a systematic and structured fashion about ethical matters. The module divides into two parts. The first concentrates on normative theory while the second looks at how various moral theories are applies in practical cases. Theories under discussion include consequentialism, deontology, virtue ethics, and particularism. Topics in applied ethics shall typically include abortion, euthanasia, animal welfare, poverty, and war.
