Employment relations are critical to the smooth running of any business, with motivated staff contributing to a greater efficiency and performance. Employee relations is a dynamic and changing subject area which is influenced by both macro (e.g. governmental and political) and micro contexts (e.g. organisational change). In exploring these contexts, the module will examine a number of different theoretical viewpoints and chnaging economic, technological and social conditions that influence the workplace and the relationship between employers and employees.
