The aim of Tourism Industry Dynamics and Strategy is to give you an alternative view of the business world, integrate and further explain some of the concepts that were introduced to you in modules taken in the first semester. It is designed to enable you to consolidate your understanding of international tourism organisations by assessing them from a strategic perspective. It is now widely recognised that an international manager must be more than operationally driven, and be able to integrate organisational functions and processes (that are typically strategic in nature) in a cohesive, broader strategy. The boundaries between these various functions and processes are conceptual only, and it is through their interaction and interdependence that each is able to contribute to organisational improvements. Therefore, this module is important for you in your most immediate, as well as, longer-term careers.
