This module builds on the skills and knowledge gained in the basic modules in history. The module involves individual study, under the supervision of one or more members of the academic staff, on a topic chosen by the student. The range and depth of the subject chosen might reflect interests stimulated by the undergraduate programme or by external interests. The topic may not substantially overlap with a dissertation registered or subsequently registered by the student.
