Browse Hierarchy HIST5006: Gender, Sexualities and the Body

This module offers students a chance to deepen their understanding of early modern and modern social, medical and cultural history through the prism of gender, sexuality and the body. It will further develop students' skills in using and appraising primary sources, engaging in debate and interpretation, and using a variety of information sources. It will also introduce them to some of the key issues in historical changes of gender roles, images of the human body, and attitudes towards human sexualities in different times and places.
