Browse Hierarchy HART4002: Reading Art History
This module is designed to develop students' ability to be reflective and critical readers of the kinds of writing they will encounter in their art historical studies. We will examine a range of concepts and approaches which have been employed in writing about art from the sixteenth century to the present day so as to enhance the capacity of students to understand and evaluate texts which are shaped by these concepts and approaches and to recognise differences of method in art historical writing. NB. Students will not be eligible for resits on this module unless they have attempted every assessment point in the module. The only exceptions (MCs etc) will be at the discretion of the module leader.
