This module examines the evolution of heritage landscapes and their conservation and management through a study of the physical and human processes that have impacted upon them. The term 'heritage' is broadly interpreted to include natural history as well as the built environment. The role of Heritage management organisations and policies will be explored. This module is supported by a choice of fieldtrips (depending on student numbers) one to a Berkshire agricultural landscape to investigate conservation and management and one to the Dorset coast to investigate coastal zone management. Students will be required to attend one fieldtrip.
