Browse Hierarchy GEOG5003: Advanced Research Skills for Geographers

This module develops the practical skills required in contemporary geographical enquiry and prepares students for the module field trip. This module explicitly recognises the central importance of fieldwork to the discipline, a signature pedagogy of geography, and builds upon the skills and techniques established at level 4. With staff guidance, students will develop research methods skills through the design and implementation of a substantive piece of research, to be conducted during a residential fieldtrip. The module also provides preparation for research work associated with conducting and writing the dissertation in geography, and develops transferable skills for future employability.
