Browse Hierarchy FILM6005: TF6: Film Theory

This module provides students with an overview of different film theories within larger philosophical currents. A range of theoretical approaches is applied to classic films, which have been extensively analysed in seminal critical texts. By testing the validity and relevance of different theoretical frameworks in the context of concrete film analysis students will be sensitised to the heuristic value and the limits of film theory.
