Students will have the opportunity to develop further knowledge and professional skills of particular relevance to real estate development in both the public and private sectors. Successful completion of this module will provide students with an understanding of the fundamental components of the development process, including project appraisal, design, procurement and marketing. Within this context, the legal, financial, social and environmental constraints within which the real estate development process takes place and the core activities and skills used are explored. Students will have the opportunity to learn from and to question developers and their advisers, to learn from project case examples and to make use of current property sector research sources.
