Browse Hierarchy ENGR7015: Advanced Chassis Engineering

This module extends the knowledge gained during a BEng. Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering and deals with advanced chassis design subjects at Masters level. Students will be given a thorough understanding of the relevant theoretical and practical considerations associated with the tyres, ride and handling of a vehicle. Students will learn to perform advanced design analyses on car such as roll centre analysis, suspension analysis, half and full car analyses, weight transfer and roll and ride effects will be modelled. The analyses will be performed using the ADAMs Views dynamics analysis package and students will receive an introduction to the ADAMsCAR package. 4-Poster analysis will also be covered in theory and in practice. Students will also study power train design.
