Browse Hierarchy EDUC7033: Interpreting Artist Teacher Pedagogies in the Classroom
This programme of study seeks to extend practical and theoretical visual art subject knowledge focusing on contemporary practice. Artist teachers will spend an initial three days exploring the work of a contemporary practitioner at Modern Art Oxford, linking to a contemporary art exhibition through a series of workshops run by specialist practitioners connecting education, galleries, research and practical application. There will be an opportunity to explore artwork through appropriate practical activity working with an artist in residence and utilising Modern Art Oxford and Oxford Brookes University facilities. Educational links will be made through seminars connecting the workshops to teaching and learning in and out of classroom environment. Research and reflection on secondary Art and Design education will explore current issues to enable progression and identify potential methods for extending personal and professional practice.
