This module has as its focus the subject specific competences and `threshold' concepts required of graduates in economics in employment that is directly or indirectly related to the subject of their degree. Drawing its framework largely from research conducted by the Economics Network, in conjunction with the RES, on what employers in the public, private and not for profit sectors require from graduates in economics. The aim of the module is thus to familiarise students with what they should know and be able to do; to equip them to realise and further develop these competencies and reflect on their current capabilities and the extent to which these meet the expectations of employers in a variety of organisational contexts.
