This module aims to develop knowledge and understanding of intermediate level Microeconomics. The subject matter is divided into 3 main parts: part one is devoted to individual consumer preferences and market demand analysis; part two examines production costs, profit maximisation and the pricing behaviour of firms in both competitive and monopoly markets; and part three explores strategic thinking and pricing decisions in oligopolistic markets, particularly in a game-theoretical context.
