In this module students will be actively engaged in the interpretation of psychological studies which have implications for coaching and mentoring practice. The aim of the module is to explore the complexity and potential tensions between different positions of studying psychological phenomena. Limitations and pitfalls of different approaches for researching subjective experiences and helping relationships will be discussed through examples of the latest studies. Students will refine their ability to critique various psychological studies relevant to coaching from the different philosophical, psychological and methodological standpoints. The module will provide an opportunity to enhance student's reflexivity by developing their own model of a coach as a researcher-practitioner.
