This is an advanced strategy module that assumes an undergraduate-level knowledge of both business and corporate strategy. It critically examines both the philosophical and practical implications of strategic thinking, analysis, choice and implementation. Drawing upon such evaluation, the module considers how organisations (both for, and not for, profit) seek to gain a sustainable position against a backdrop of volatility and uncertainty. Strategy Analysis provides the basis for the development of several higher-level competencies and capabilities. These include strategic decision making and organisational analysis which are both necessary for Business Analysts to undertake their work. This module integrates issues with other modules in semester one and provides discussion points for issues debated in semester two.
