Supply chain management is concerned with managing and controlling the activities along a chain of supply, from procuring materials to delivering finished goods that satisfy customer orders. This module will encourage students to study, in a global context, the processes necessary to strategically manage the flow of materials and products in order to achieve competitive advantage. Students will examine how effective logistics and purchasing systems can become key business enablers, and how the management of international supply chains must form a significant element of the strategy of any organisation operating on a global basis.
