One year of work experience in a hospital laboratory. Learning during this year will be specified through a learning contract and assessed through a portfolio and a reflective diary. During the placement year students can complete much, if not all, of the IBMS Certificate of Competence Registration Portfolio. A series of seminars runs during the year prior to the placement to help students prepare for it.
