This module is designed to give students an in-depth appreciation of currently topical areas in the cell biology of mammals, yeast and plants, and the techniques underpinning the associated research. Topics to be covered will include the dynamics and regulation of the cytoskeleton, the mechanics of cell division including the regulation of the cell cycle, and the role of the various components of the endomembrane system in the operation of the secretory and endocytic pathways.
