Browse Hierarchy BIOL5005: Plant Science
The module deals with key topics in modern plant science. With an emphasis on the global significance of plants - ranging from food production to biodiversity; key processes in their growth, development and reproduction; flowering and pollination; primary production, nutrition and water. With a strong emphasis on current issues and modern techniques, students on the module will have the opportunity to use the scanning electron microscope to explore pollen structure and will be introduced to the bioinformatics as a tool to better understand plant processes.
