The module combines a theoretical component, which looks at the cultural and intellectual basis of different forms of fine art and architectural representation, with a studio based programme that is intended to develop skills in drawing and other means of communication. The module also introduces students to the process of examining and recording buildings both in the theoretical and physical sense.
